International Standards in Veterinary Services: Enhanced Knowledge and Adoption in Day to Day Practices
Overview of the course
This is a course that runs for 32 hours which is equivalent to 4 working-days, where each day has 8 working-hours. The course is intended to develop the knowledge and understanding of international standards relevant to veterinary services and the veterinary profession and to enhance the application of these standards in private and public veterinary practices in Kenya.
The course is open and relevant to individual veterinary surgeons and veterinary paraprofessionals and also to governmental and non-governmental institutions. Each of these levels of qualification will undergo these same training. The course is not intended to delve deeply into international standards but it will open up trainees desiring deeper training to avenues where such training can be accessed.
The trainer will introduce a subject matter in form of modules of the course. The introduction will have links to online literature that the trainee will have to access and read to gain wider knowledge.
At the end of the course each trainees will have extensive understanding on international standards, how such standards apply to the trainee and his or her workplace and what the world expects from veterinary surgeons, veterinary paraprofessionals and veterinary practices in public and private sectors.
The satisfactory completion of the course will be adjudged through an online examination. The questions are arranged in a progressive manner such that a correct answers in one page enables one to open the next page and an incorrect answer gives you the option to go back to the course and read more on the subject covered by the question. It means that the pass-mark with therefore be 100%. Attaining the pass-mark will lead to automatic generation of an authenticated downloadable certificate, one copy of which will be given to the trainees and the other copy will be sent by the trainer to the Kenya Veterinary Board which will issue the credit points for the course.
